Required Items For Plate Umpire

Navy Blue ball bag (either 1 or 2 bags)
Indicator (optional for Base Umpire)
Plate Brush
Chest Protector, Shin Guards, Mask w/throat guard and protective equipment (Baseball & Fast Pitch Softball)

Optional Items For Both Plate and Base Umpires

Sunglasses
Zippered, Snapped or Pullover Jacket (without numbers).  Jacket style is Navy Blue with or without Red vent colors and collars/cuffs with red/white. Black, Gray or Light Blue colors anywhere on the jackets are not authorized.
Jackets m
ay be worn over required Major League Style shirt or over optional light blue long sleeve turtleneck shirt.

Personal Items Prohibited For Both Plate and Base Umpires

Jewelry (except that a wedding band, medical alert bracelet or game timing device way be worn)

Plate: Major league style Dark Blue pullover shirt with FHSAA emblem on pocket with a dark blue tee shirt.

Base: Major league style Dark Blue pullover shirt with FHSAA emblem on pocket with a dark blue tee shirt.

Contract Baseball & Softball 

Youth baseball is played in Spring and early Fall. Athletes compete in four age divisions ranging from 8 to 17 years. Spring registration begins in January and continues through mid-February at most local neighborhood athletic associations. Fall's baseball season registration is in August with games played September through October

Minor Major Division 8-9-10 Year Olds
Little Major Division 11-12 Year Olds
Junior Major Division 13-14 Year Olds
Senior Major Division 15-16-18 Year Old

Youth softball is played in Spring and Summer. Athletes compete in five age divisions ranging from 8 to 17 years. Spring registration begins in January and continues through mid-February at most local neighborhood athletic associations. 

Required Items For Both Plate and Base Umpires

Medium Heather Gray Slacks with black belt and non-shiny belt buckle
Black umpires shoes with black or dark blue socks (plate shoes with steel toes for plate umpire)
Navy Blue hat with embroidered white JUA acronym on front

BEFORE June 1st: Major League Style Navy Blue Pullover Shirt (no numbers) with JUA red, white and blue insignia on left shirt pocket. 

AFTER June 1st: Major League Style Light Blue Pullover Shirt (no numbers) with JUA red, white and blue insignia on left shirt pocket.

Both color shirts shall be worn with Navy Blue undershirt.

The Contract Booking Commissioner may authorize different color shirts on a case by case basis.  (USSSA requires a red JUA shirt).
